I have a lovely ground floor masionete with my own front door, Located on a lovely little culdesac, front garden, back garden, with the side of the masionette allocated for bin. I have my own shed, and the opportunity to rent a garage close by. There is roadside parking (non allocated) everybody for the most part tends to park outside of their homes. I have a small porch with a cuboard (great for storing cleaning products or buggies etc) and a little (lockable) window Double doors open up to a lovely hallway with nooks to put coatracks/phone tables/etc. recently decorated (green) The Master bedroom (double) is bright and spacious and catches the sun for most of the day. Lovely original wooden parque floorboards, and a cuboard for storage. This is quite a big room. recently decorated (white) with a very large window. The smaller bedroom can still fit a double bed, bedside table,wardrobe,chest of drawers, and a chair. Its a lovely cosy bedrom again with the original wooden parque floorboards, and storage closet. Recently decorated (soft pink) The living room is a great size and whilst there is no fireplace, the walls alcove around the chimney structure allowing two great walls for photoframes and shelves, and the perfect little feature wall. This room also has the sunlight most of the day and heats up quickly. Very large windows that overlook the lovely Walnut Green itself The kitchen has a very large window that loverlooks the garden, and whilst it is on the narrow side, i know after being inside my neighbours houses that we actually have more kitchen cupboards than they do, so there is plenty of storage.There are "gaps" for a fridge freezer, a washing machine, an oven, and an extra place for a tumble dryer or dishwasher, with accessable fuse-switches. We manage to cook and prepare for five people most nights so space isnt a problem The Bathroom again is on the narrow side, but supports a bathtub, sink, toilet, radiator and a large airing cuboard. I've never been good at DIY but just inserting a shelf would lend a very large cuboard for storing towels,sheets,blankets etc. The back garden is very charming and what sold me to this property. It is divided into two sections, with a small patio area (beneath the kitchen window) The enterance to the garden has a small long section of grass (perfect for hanging washing/sunbathing) and a garden path slopes gently uphill leading up to a larger, much wider flat "square" of grass. Its a very private garden, nobody has to walk past it to get their own gardens, (or through it, as is the case of some gardens in the culdesac) The narrower section is flanked by a tall bush on one side, and our next door neighbours beautiful flower bushes framing the fence. There is a very tall tree with a cute wall and possible flowerbed placed just at the top of the path. Trees shade the "square" making it perfect for summer, as you can catch all of the benefit of the sun, without overheating or being blinded. The "square" is large enough for a patio table, two little tykes play houses, paddling pools, sandpits, bikes, etc, its very roomy when you are up there. The surrounding gardens are gorgeous and genrelly well kept. I'm not much of a gardener myself but the housing assosiation holds garden contests for both children and adults. The housing association is very friendly, on more than one occasision they have let me use their phone or their office for a meeting. They also hold events for tenants too that i am told are going to be held annually. Once a year they hire two skips, for all tenants to make use of. Once a year they host a "Green Sale" where everybody sets up a carbootsale like sale, and the housing society promotes it. I made £53 last year! .. They have very recently held a competition to come up with a new logo, the prize being £100 for adults, £125 for children if their design is chosen. I think i've painted an accurate portrait of them here and how good they are. The Housing Association is located less than a minute away. We are less than five minutes away from the local Primary School, its a very safe route, our eight year old daughter walks to and from school herself now, and its a lovely school, with a friendly faculty and easy to talk to approach. The school "friends" host special nights such as Pamper Nights, Bingo, etc and of course there are the school fairs that our family look forward to every year. The school also offers clubs you can attend with your child and many other things. The school is in the undergoings of being rebuilt, but it is in no way subpar, they just want to enlarge the premises and make better use of space The local shops are less than two minutes away, litrelly around the corner. There is a newsagents (The Mirror- open until 6pm) A Post Office/Pharmacy (open until 5:30pm), a plumming store, an indian resturant, a grocery shop (AM2PM- open until 8pm) A Hardware Store that also sells a large range of cleaning products and novelty goods, an off liscence that also sells milk,food items etc (Dawn2Dusk open until 11pm), A good old cafe, a Bookies, and a car dealership, and garage. There are two churches less than 1 minute away (The Holy Trinity church and the North Bushey Baptist Church- also has a youth club and sunday school) Both have toddler groups and activities. There is also a Leigon less than 1 minute away, and a five minute walk or one minute drive gets you to the Community Centre where there is many activities such as yogo, dance, childrens groups, Weigh in centres etc. A little park is just beyond that. A Costco is a five/ten minute walk away, and there is another string of shops five minutes walk away, there are two newsagents, and another indian resturant. Just beyond that is a large park. The Otter Pub is less than a minute away but is in the process of being done up, but there are others locally. We are in walking distance of watford, and we walk there quite frequently, but a bustop at the end of the road will take you into watford and the W19 service is very reliable. Up by the community centre you can catch the 602 and many other busses. The people around the area are very friendly, conversational people. There are quite a lot of children from all age ranges, and they all play together so if you have children they wont be having a hard time finding friends. Every new child who has moved into the culdesac has been immediately taken into their fold. The nearby children play on the green on nice days, they are respectful children and dont mess with cars etc. Overall the area has a very friendly atmostphere. Its not hard to make friends here. We have been very happy living here, but our family has outgrown the home and we are looking to find a larger one. If we had our way we'd stay here forever. We are looking for 3-4 bedroom house Ideally close to the area or closer to Watford Town, but we are open to consider any area. must have garden.
